Transfers

A name or an extension can be handed to another person directly, for free. A transfer is distinct from the paid marketplace: nothing is listed, no money moves, and the recipient must accept.

#Offering a transfer

From the dashboard, press Transfer on a name card or the transfer control on an extension chip, then name the recipient by email address or @name. The recipient receives an email; the offer shows under Pending on your dashboard until it is answered, and you can cancel it there.

Rules:

• You can only transfer what you own, and only one offer per item can be open at a time.
• An item listed on the marketplace cannot be transferred until the listing ends.
• Transferring your free @name does not give you another free one — the free slot is spent on the claim, not the hold.

#Accepting

The recipient sees the offer under Incoming transfers on their dashboard and presses Accept or Decline. On accept:

• a name changes owner immediately, and
• an extension is re-pointed to the new owner; it disappears from the sender's chips and appears in the recipient's.

Either way the transfer is appended to the SuperChain ledger, so the chain of ownership stays verifiable.

#What does not change

• Files already protected under the extension keep working; ownership of a file follows the account that sealed it, not the extension.
• Receipts stay with the account that paid.
• The register's classes still apply: an Institution name can only be accepted by an Institution mailbox.
