What file types can I make a SuperFile?
Any of them. Documents, images, spreadsheets, media, and even entire databases — structured or unstructured. If it's a file, SuperFile can wrap it.
What actually happens to my file?
SuperFile wraps it in split‑key encryption and changes its extension — a .pdf becomes a .pdfs (or your branded extension). The original is sealed inside and only opens for the people you've granted access.
What is split‑key encryption?
The key that decrypts your file is divided into parts held by different parties. No single part — not even SuperFile's — can open the file alone, so every open has to be authorized by your side.
Can I add and remove people later?
Yes — at any time, for the entire life of the file. Add an employee, remove a client, or change who's on the list, and it takes effect on the next open everywhere.
Can I really revoke a file after it's downloaded?
Yes. Because access is checked on every open, revoking kills even copies that were already downloaded — they simply stop opening.
Can I brand the extension as my company?
Yes. Keep the default .pdfs, or brand every file with your name — .super, .ibm, .deloitte — so recipients know at a glance it's really from you. Branded extensions are $100 each, reserved on the registry.
Do you have to install any software to send or view a SuperFile?
No. SuperFile is designed to work with the tools people already use. Recipients can securely access a SuperFile from any modern web browser. For organizations that want a deeper experience, SuperFile also offers desktop, mobile, and enterprise integrations, but they're never required just to receive a file.
What actually happens to my file?
Your file isn't simply attached and forgotten. When you create a SuperFile, your file is encrypted, protected by your sharing rules, and assigned a unique identity. Every time someone opens it, SuperFile verifies who they are, checks your permissions, and delivers the file securely. You remain in control throughout the file's lifecycle, not just when you send it.
Does SuperFile have access to my files?
No. Your files belong to you, not SuperFile. They are encrypted before they're shared, and only authorized recipients can access them based on the permissions you define. SuperFile provides the infrastructure that securely delivers and protects your files, but ownership and control always remain with you.
Can I really unshare a file after it's downloaded?
Yes. Unlike traditional file sharing, SuperFile lets you stop access even after a file has been downloaded. If you revoke access, change permissions, or set an expiration date, the next time the file is opened, those new rules are enforced automatically. Once you decide a file should no longer be available, it simply isn't.
Can I brand the extension?
Yes. Organizations can reserve and use their own custom SuperFile extension to match their brand. Instead of sending a generic file type, you can send files using your own branded extension, creating a consistent experience for employees, customers, and partners while making your files instantly recognizable.
