#How the pieces fit

  1. A person or organisation claims a name on the register and, optionally, a branded extension.
  2. Files are sealed into SuperFiles under that identity. The extension on a protected file is the owner's mark: .pdfs by default, .acme for a company that owns it.
  3. Every open of a protected file is a licence request. The viewer asks SuperDRM for a key; SuperDRM checks the owner's policy and the live share list, meters the request, and answers with a hardware-bound licence or a refusal.
  4. Unsharing changes the answer to the next request, everywhere, at once.
  5. The ledger records what the register decided, so a registration or a transfer can be verified by anyone.
